Welcome to Oregon-Davis Schools!

  • Dear students and families,

What a long, cold, and snowy winter we have experienced.  Despite all this, school keeps moving along.  I appreciate the patience and understanding of all our families as we have had to deal with Mother Nature the last month or so.

What an exciting time of the year.  Congratulations to the Lady Bobcats for their victory over Triton to become Sectional Champions!  The boys basketball team is on a roll having reeled off three wins in a row.  Our swim teams recently completed their season, and their efforts in the pool are appreciated.  It is great to experience all the support and pride for Bobcat athletics.  As I said, it is truly an exciting time.

Looking to the near future, our 7th and 8th graders will be taking the applied skills portion of their ISTEP+ exams on March 11, 12, and 13.  The 7th and 8th graders will both take English/language arts and math tests, while the 7th graders will also take a social studies test.  The applied skills portion of the tests require students to answer constructed response and extended response items, where students will need to write out or grid certain portions of their answers.  The the second part of the ISTEP+ exams will be in late April/early May, and those are multiple choice questions.  For further information about testing, please visit the Indiana Department of Education page by clicking here: http://www.doe.in.gov/assessment/istep-grades-3-8

With these tests looming, teachers, administrators, and support staff are continuing to prepare the students academically and mentally.  All we ask is that our 7th and 8th graders do their very best.  We ask that families talk about the importance of these test and make sure your child(ren) have adequate rest and focus for the exams.  We are all in this together, and we all want our children to be successful!

While we are all looking forward to the warmer weather of spring, there will be much activity here at school as we move toward the end of school.  We would like to finish this school year strong.  And as always, if there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We are here to help each and every student be the best they can be.

"Through Trust, Respect, & Responsibility the staff, students, and parents will work cooperatively to create a learning environment for the success of all students."

  • Oregon-Davis Jr/Sr High School is looking toward the future with a vision of an evolving curriculum and an instructional model that will provide the best educational opportunities for our students. We strive to maintain an atmosphere that is student-centered and builds collegiality, student/teacher rapport, parent and community involvement. Oregon-Davis is fortunate to be a part of a community that displays a tremendous amount of pride in the people and programs that comprise our school. Maintaining and building upon this tradition of support is the backbone of “Bobcat Pride”.

We are a high school accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Our curriculum is comprehensive, including both vocational and college preparation that includes the opportunity for advanced placement and dual enrollment courses. Our average enrollment is 330, 7-12 with a teaching faculty of twenty-three making our teacher/student ratio 1:15. Recent renovations and updates to our facilities allow us to provide our teachers and students the optimal environment for teaching and learning within the "New Tech Concept" which began in the 2010-11 school year. Our technology department is developing and improving in order to meet the needs of our students in a changing society where accessing technology is a vital part of the education.  Our students 7-12 are 1:1 with an Apple Laptop which can be used in the development of the 21st Century students at Oregon-Davis.
